Come ride the wave at the 2019 Surfin' Christmas Party . Enjoy a special live performance by The Tourmaliners, hang out with friends, eat great Mexican food and dance... all while supporting a great cause. This is the Horizon Surf Fellowship's 6th time organizing this amazing event. There will be a $1 per ticket "opportunity drawing" for a brand new Gordon and Smith Surfboard, gifts from Leilani's Hawaiian Cafe and Clairemont Surf Shop as well as many other cool prizes. All proceeds from the opportunity drawing go towards supporting The Pacheco Mission - Mazatlan, Mexico.

The Pacheco Mission, Mazatlan Mexico: Twenty eight years ago, our friends Joe and Laurie Pacheco left sunny Southern California with a dream to help minister to the people of Mazatlan. Mazatlan is known to most as a vacation destination, but in recent years has been under heavy oppression by the drug cartels. Through it all, the Pachecos have managed to built multiple outreach facilities and have trained and organized hundreds of local people for service. The Pachecos also help run a drug and alcohol recovery center, a children's outreach center and a food and raiment service that feeds and clothes indigenous people living in the surrounding mountain communities. The funds from this event will go directly to help the Pacheco's finish building a new 2,000 sq. ft. facility in the town of Amapa/El Ejido, approximately 25 minutes from downtown Mazatlan. (photo above shows the progress so far on the construction) As you can see in the photo above, the new facility is in phase one of construction. The new facility will include a children's play area, a 150 seat community meeting center, a food kitchen and other service areas. The surf fellowship guys hope to bring a team of 8-10 people down to Mazatlan in Spring 2020 to help install the walls and roof. (Contact Pat Patton if you would like to be a part of that team)
